Option #3 provides an additional list of hotels that can be considered and reserved online, but while some of these may be slightly more economical, they are not supported specifically by the Tokyo 2010 Consultation re transportation instructions.
 
In general, the list of seven recommended hotels per Option #2 provide a range of prices and options.   The web site, and particularly the link at http://tokyo2010.org/travel/hotels.htm details the time and distance from Nakano Sun Plaza for each hotel.  Each one requires varying amounts of walking and train transportation even though they are located in the general vicinity of the Nakano Sun Plaza.
 
We have been asked frequently about rooms at the Sun Plaza Hotel.  Basically, only a handful of rooms are available at the Nakano Sun Plaza hotel, and we need to reserve those for anyone who would have difficulty because of age or handicap to manage the train transportation system.  If that describes you, please contact us at info@tokyo2010.org and we can provide you with some alternatives.
 
If you have questions or problems with the online reservation system, please let us know.  You'll find it workable, if not particularly user friendly.  It requires that you first register a user personal information account, secondly to make your reservation, and as a third step make payment by credit card.  Reservations can be cancelled, with full refund of payment, until 4 days prior to the arrival date.  Take care to read the Reservation and Cancellation policy for details.

If you want to share a room, at this point we do not have any ability to match you with other delegates.  But we are working on a networking tool that will enable some direct delegate to delegate communication that may help if you have this interest or need.
 
The prices are quoted in Japanese Yen.  At the current exchange rate approximating 90:1, 8,000 yen, equals approximately $US 88.00.
